| AcuTech’s Dave Moore to Present on US Chemical Security Regs at Kuwait Conference |
| |
AcuTech’s President & CEO, David Moore, will speak on US Chemical Security Regulations at the American Society of Safety Engineers-Kuwait Chapter’s International Health, Safety, Environment and Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference March 17-19 in Kuwait.
The DHS Chemical Facility Anti Terrorism Standards (CFATS) rule (6 CFR Part 27) required over 35,000 sites handling certain chemicals of interest to DHS to complete and Top Screen. From this group, nearly 7,000 sites were tentatively designated as high risk chemical sites and have completed the Security Vulnerability Assessment and waiting to see what the next steps are (they get a final tier ranking and then are told to proceed with the Site Security Plan (or not) and to what tier level of performance).
Mr. Moore’s presentation will provide an update of the CFATS rule including
- an overview of the program and of new legislation proposed to strengthen CFATS and make it permanent
- details of the DHS SVA methodology
- lessons learned from regulation of the chemical sector
- understanding the Risk Based Performance Standards and the Site Security Plan requirements
